Happy 1st Birthday Stone!

The week of Stone's birthday I was extremely emotional about his 1st birthday. So much happened while I was pregnant with him and his 1st year of life. It was all so bittersweet. I knew I needed to stop crying and just celebrate the miracle that God had blessed our family. Stone's 1st birthday fell on our 5th year wedding anniversary. Yes, this little stinker decided to surprise us not only being born at 35 weeks, but on our wedding anniversary. He really wanted the attention in our family.

The day of his 1st birthday I took the day off on his birthday and we just hung out as a family. Mike made Stone birthday cake. Jett, Mike, Nee and Papa were there to sing his 1st birthday song. We wanted to take it easy since the next day was his blowout birthday bash! It was a great 5th anniversary and 1st birthday!

Happy 1st Birthday my little fighter!! You really beat all the odds that life has brought to you. You never gave up and we are so proud of you. I thought it would be so hard to love another child, but I was wrong. My heart grew like I never thought it could and you have taught me so much as a mother. You are an amazing blessing to us. Your sweet smile and gorgeous eyes just makes my heart melt. Your brother Jett thinks the world of you. He told me the other day that he was so excited for you to grow up so you both could play toys! You amaze us. Continue to be the fighter that you are and you will succeed in life my son. I love you.

Happy 1st Birthday my sweet Stone!

2013 Christmas Card

We've been sending out Christmas cards as a couple for a while now. Each year we try to be creative with them (past Christmas cards: 2009, 2010). Each year it gets harder and harder. We either add another dog or a kid. It's hard to get the dogs wrangled up and to look at the camera. It's even harder with kids! This year I tried to take some pictures of some inspiration I saw on pinterest. Here are some photos I took.

The card that I got through Shutterfly.com. Love them!

This year we've been extremely blessed with our new home, the birth of our second son, and a new great job. More importantly we are blessed to have each other. Merry Christmas everyone!! God Bless!

2013 Mother's Day....DIY photo gift

2013 Mother's Day was extra special this year with what my guys did for me. While I wasn't home Mike got out our camera, tripod, remote for the camera and started to take some beautiful DIY shots. His inspiration was "Jett's Day." From getting ready, napping, & going out. It just captured so many great moments of our little guy.

I love the sentimental gifts that kids make their parents. It is worth millions to me. So when I received my mother's day gift from my guys I heart just fluttered with excitement.

Here are the pics from the mini DIY session .....

Mike wanted to put all these great photos in a frame. He had J paint the matte so it was more personable.

The end result a DIY photo session with a toddler painted matte for Mother's Day. Something I will have and to cherish forever.

Jett's Vintage Train 3rd Birthday Party!

I was really excited about planning Jett's party because we would throw the party at our new home. So many possibilities!! I always try to brainstorm ideas months prior to the party so I can slowly come up with stuff and create them. I started to think of things that Jett was really into at this part of his life.

He loves planes, but we did that for his 1st birthday. He loves tractor, we did that for his 2nd party. Now at almost 3 he loved trains and Superman! So I asked Jett in November, "Jett do you want a choo-choo train party or Superman?" and Jett yells, "CHOO CHOO TRAIN!!" PERFECT!!

I was now thinking of things to do and how to decorate for this party. Of course everything has to start with the invitation. I created the invitation myself. I went with a old style boarding pass.

You can now purchase this invitation, but personalized  at my Etsy store!
I printed these in cardstock and then stuffed them in kraft paper envelope that I purchased at Hobby Lobby …
