DIY: Diaper Bassinet & Gift Basket

This is not my typical post on here, but since it was DIY and I am super proud of it. Here it is! This is a gift basket I was putting together for the shower we are throwing for my boss. I bought a pack of diapers with an idea just to bundle them all up and tie them in a cute bow. Then I saw some cute things online of diaper creations. So I decided to take a stab at it.

With alot of frustration at first on how to construct the top of the bassinet. With the help of Mike and his carpenter skills I was able to make it! Check it out! What do you think? My first diaper anything!

My inspiration....I wish I can make cute bows like this.

Okay here is my creation!!
I need to still add the wheels

I thought the bib add a cute touch to it.
I am pretty excited how it turned out!

2013 Christmas Card

We've been sending out Christmas cards as a couple for a while now. Each year we try to be creative with them (past Christmas cards: 2009, 2010). Each year it gets harder and harder. We either add another dog or a kid. It's hard to get the dogs wrangled up and to look at the camera. It's even harder with kids! This year I tried to take some pictures of some inspiration I saw on pinterest. Here are some photos I took.

The card that I got through Shutterfly.com. Love them!

This year we've been extremely blessed with our new home, the birth of our second son, and a new great job. More importantly we are blessed to have each other. Merry Christmas everyone!! God Bless!

2013 Mother's Day....DIY photo gift

2013 Mother's Day was extra special this year with what my guys did for me. While I wasn't home Mike got out our camera, tripod, remote for the camera and started to take some beautiful DIY shots. His inspiration was "Jett's Day." From getting ready, napping, & going out. It just captured so many great moments of our little guy.

I love the sentimental gifts that kids make their parents. It is worth millions to me. So when I received my mother's day gift from my guys I heart just fluttered with excitement.

Here are the pics from the mini DIY session .....

Mike wanted to put all these great photos in a frame. He had J paint the matte so it was more personable.

The end result a DIY photo session with a toddler painted matte for Mother's Day. Something I will have and to cherish forever.

Jett's Vintage Train 3rd Birthday Party!

I was really excited about planning Jett's party because we would throw the party at our new home. So many possibilities!! I always try to brainstorm ideas months prior to the party so I can slowly come up with stuff and create them. I started to think of things that Jett was really into at this part of his life.

He loves planes, but we did that for his 1st birthday. He loves tractor, we did that for his 2nd party. Now at almost 3 he loved trains and Superman! So I asked Jett in November, "Jett do you want a choo-choo train party or Superman?" and Jett yells, "CHOO CHOO TRAIN!!" PERFECT!!

I was now thinking of things to do and how to decorate for this party. Of course everything has to start with the invitation. I created the invitation myself. I went with a old style boarding pass.

You can now purchase this invitation, but personalized  at my Etsy store!
I printed these in cardstock and then stuffed them in kraft paper envelope that I purchased at Hobby Lobby …
