Happy Belated V-Day

Yes, I know I am totally late on this post, but been so swamped with things going on in my life right now. Feels like the evenings on the weekends are the only times I can blog. Blah!

Happy SUPER belated Valentine's Day! I know a lot of people don't celebrate this today because you should love your mate everyday blah blah blah. I agree, but it is nice to take one day to really go all out.

This V-Day in particular was a special one because it was our first one as a married couple. I know it's cheesy, but I am big on all holidays and 1st anythings. Sorry got a little side track... So we celebrate on the Saturday evening rather than the actual day. Mike took me to an incredible restaurant called "The Bistro" which is Hubbell & Hudson's restaurant. Sooooo delicious!! I am in LOVE with Hubbell & Hudson they have the best everything!

On the actual day we just relaxed most of the day and Mike decided to make my favorite meal he makes for me...Homemade Chicken-Shrimp Alfredo. WOW! This was better than the meal from the night before! These pictures don't do justice of actually how yummy this great bite of goodness was!

I am so lucky to have such an incredible husband. I can't wait to spend all of our valentines, christmases, birthdays, new years, president days, easters, thankgivings, halloweens, st. patty's and all the other holidays and special days for ever!! We have a blast together as a couple. I wouldn't have it any other way!!

Confessions of a New Mommy....I am unhappy....

This blog is really not the true topic you would be reading about (DIY stuff), but I need to get this off my chest. To make me sane again as a person. I am going to lay it all out in the open, which I rarely do (I feel like Jerry in the movie "Jerry Maguire" at this point ha!). Do you want to know what it is really like to be a first time mom? The truth not the "fluff" about how it is really hard, but the most rewarding thing EVER and so on and so on (it is rewarding, but there is more too it). Keep reading! I have officially been a mother to a live male human being for 18 weeks & 4 days. In the books you read and in the clasess you are told that this thing called being a mom is HARD because you will be so tired with the feedings, putting the baby to sleep and blah blah blah......  Yes yes  yes yes....I am tired & sleepy....with my son thinking I am an "all you can eat buffet" at 2 am & 4 am. Yes yes yes yes....I am frustrated that my baby do...

Jett's Vintage Train 3rd Birthday Party!

I was really excited about planning Jett's party because we would throw the party at our new home. So many possibilities!! I always try to brainstorm ideas months prior to the party so I can slowly come up with stuff and create them. I started to think of things that Jett was really into at this part of his life. He loves planes, but we did that for his 1st birthday. He loves tractor, we did that for his 2nd party. Now at almost 3 he loved trains and Superman! So I asked Jett in November, "Jett do you want a choo-choo train party or Superman?" and Jett yells, "CHOO CHOO TRAIN!!" PERFECT!! I was now thinking of things to do and how to decorate for this party. Of course everything has to start with the invitation. I created the invitation myself. I went with a old style boarding pass.  This invitation is no longer available at my etsy shop .  However, a new & improved one I made from my youngest son's birthday (below) is available  to pe...

Jett's Nursery... Renovation

We started to work on the room slowly, but surely in September. We first had a garage sale to get everything out of the room. It was basically used as a storage room and it was packed from floor to ceiling. Luckily we were able to sell the majority of the items. Thank goodness!! The Garage Sale!! Second was tearing everything out of the room. This was the fun part! Pulled out all the carpet, everything out of the closet (shelving, poles, racks, etc.).  The dogs even wanted to help out! ;-) Third Mike worked on some great solid pieces of furniture (dresser, tv armoire & crib) to refinish. This took a while since it was sooooo time consuming. We wanted black with some antiquing. Mike of course added his awesome creativity to it all with some stencil work and lining the interiors with some awesome mod podge work. It was worth every minute. He did an INCREDIBLE job! The pieces look soooo awesome! My Dresser Growing Up Before..... Inside t...
