Blame It On The Toes

I have been really slacking on blogging lately. I need to get better. I was doing so well for a couple of weeks then everything just started to go crazy!!! We just have a lot going on in our lives right now. My parents came into town from Seattle this past weekend. So preparing for their visit was crazy. With all the craziness a month ago I decided I wanted to get some dog beds made for our 3 furbabies. I never found anything I liked online or in the stores. And if I did they were at least $70 each (this was the cheapest) for large dog beds. This amount is INSANE when you have 3 dogs! It adds up quick! I wanted something that was soft because all 3 dogs LOVE soft cushy things. They were so uncomfortable sleeping on the laminate wood floors that they would go into our living room and sleep on the couches or on a pile of our clothes in the laundry. Such a sad sight to see. Seems like this was the week that things were being cut. Literally! First up was Bentley... He is our oldest dog (4 years old). The past few months Bentley had been escaping out of ridiculous spots in the yard. He would get out through a hole the size of my fist and if you have ever seen Bentley his head is the size of bear cub. It is HUGE. Anyways he would squeeze out of places and run all over the neighborhood. And keep in mind we live on 2-1/2 acres and you would think that would be enough room to run around. However, I was told that un-neutured dogs do that because they are wandering looking for a female dog that was in heat miles away. So I decided it was finally time to get Bentley neutered. Of course my husband did not like that idea taking away Bentley's manhood. I told my husband it was the best thing for Bentley health wise for the future even though he was a very calm dog. Every year we take our Christmas card with the dogs. We always have out takes in the Christmas card of how we are trying to get the dogs under control. This year we wanted to be a little bit more silly & creative. We tried to make an attempt of taking pictures with the dogs, but that was FAIL all over it. We take them ourselves with a timer so it is pretty difficult to do with 2 grown adults and 3 crazy dogs. Soo... we tried again today. Houston weather was great to us, but we were still having trouble with the dogs. My husband had an idea of us on a little tractor pulling a wagon full of gifts and the dogs would look like they are pulling the tractor. Let me say this now...we would be a terrible dog sled team. They were all out of line trying to chase after squirrels. One of them was laying down because he was bored. It was all sorts of fun.
